The Greater Detroit Association offers a variety of social, cultural, and educational activities to meet the diverse interests of our membership. In-person events typically take place in Southeast Michigan, while virtual events are readily available to Phi Beta Kappa members everywhere.

PBK 250th Anniversary Celebration in Chicago

In celebration of its 250th anniversary, the Phi Beta Kappa Society invites you to Chicago on September 29th for the second of four nationwide programs. The Society will bring together Phi Beta Kappa members, academic leaders, innovators, and friends to consider Free Expressions: Academic Freedom and the Public Good. The program will feature a keynote address and fireside conversation with Dr. Carla Hayden, 14th Librarian of Congress. The program will take place in Preston Bradley Hall at the Chicago Cultural Center. A reception will follow in the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) Hall and Rotunda.

Cider Mill Trip - Three Cedar Farms Cider Mill

Our annual autumn event returns! Join the Young professionals an your fellow PBK members for a Saturday afternoon at Three Cedars Farm. There will be hayrides, a corn maze, a u-pick pumpkin patch, and, of course, cider and donuts! Each activity has a small fee, but access to the farm itself is free.

Virtual Book Club

PBK Annual Meeting

Where we will have a delicious meal along with hearing from our guest speaker this year, Detroit Opera CEO and Presidenty Patty Isacson Sabee. Who will be giving an engaging lecture on "Words Matter: Building a Museum of Words and Language in our Nation's Capital."
