High School Scholarship Program
The Association has always offered scholarships to graduating high school students with high scholastic levels. At one time in our history, we had a large grant from the Matilda Wilson Foundation and gave out several hundred scholarships totaling about $20,000 at an event held at Cobo Hall each spring.
Since 2016, the Greater Detroit Association has partnered with Wayne State University to award scholarships to excelling high school seniors accepted into Wayne's Irvin D. Reid Honors College. In 2018, we presented three $1250 scholarships. In 2019, we awarded two $2000 scholarships. The award winners and their parents are invited to an annual luncheon meeting where we present the awards.
